Gotham By Gaslight was my first intro to American comics. The gritty darkness to that was a real shock. I had a similar reaction when I saw Se7en and for that reason I always wanted to see a Fincher directed Batman movie.
The Batman was pretty much that wish. Fincher wasn't involved but its impossible not to see the influence of Se7en, Zodiac and Fight Club on that film.
I've always wanted to depict batman in daylight yet retain the brooding mystery the night affords him. So here we go.
